Support for United Medical Center staff with 1199SEIU

DC’s United Medical Center is slated for closure in March 2025, but workers are already being laid off.

Together with 1199SEIU, the Community Services Agency (CSA) held a workshop for workers about how to prepare financially for a layoff as well as how to find resources and information on unemployment compensation. 1199SEIU provided updates on benefits per the union contract and is working to make sure United Medical Center follows the contract.
